Self-Catering

Pickwell Manor has some fantastic spaces for eating and drinking, whether in your apartment, out on the terrace, or cooking in our BBQ area.

If it’s possible for you to shop locally, you can help to sustain our vibrant community of independent businesses. There is also the added bonus of being able to sample the delicious produce of Devon’s earth and sea! However, if it’s a supermarket you need, then we are within easy reach of, Tesco in Braunton (EX33 2DU) and Ilfracombe (EX34 8PQ), Sainsbury’s in Barnstaple (EX31 3NH), or Lidl in Barnstaple (EX31 2BP).

Our local shop

Paul and Tracey run our wonderful village shop in Georgeham. For a village store, there’s an impressive selection of goods, including fair trade and local produce. You can pre-order your shop to have it delivered. We will unpack chilled and frozen items ready for your arrival. You just need to call Tracey and Paul on 01271 890 534 or email georgehamstores@fsmail.net at least one week before your arrival date.

West Country Cheese Co.

The most amazing cheese shop! It has a beautiful website, and while you can order online the shop itself is well worth a visit. They are members of the Guild of Fine Food and one of the favourite places of the Devon Food Magazine. Call on 01271 379944 or visit them a few doors down from Passmores fishmongers on Butchers Row, Barnstaple.

Reeds

A great butcher with meat sourced from local west-country farms. Their homemade pies are delicious and great for just sticking in the oven after a day on the beach for a quick and hearty meal. Their chutneys, pickles and spices are presented beautifully (they make great gifts) and they have a variety of flavours.
