Walking To The Beach
How to get to the beach and the village
For the beach:
Turn left out of the gate onto the road, walk until you see the coastal path sign (just past the sharp right hand bend past Pickwell Barton Farm). Follow the signs down the hill to the foot path that runs along the back of the beach. Here you can either go left to the carpark / beach shop/ surf hire or right and first left across a field to the footpath onto the beach at Black Rock. There are maps in your apartment to help you find your way and spare in the West Wing entrance.
A couple of things to note
· The footpath is steep in places.
· There is NO access to the footpath through the West Woods as this is the neighbours private property.
· Please return maps to the apartment before you leave.
· The walk down takes around 20-25 minutes but is steep (but with AMAZING views) so can prove tricky on the way back, especially with small children or lots of beach equipment, and may take more like 40-45 minutes.
For the village:
Turn right out of the gate, walk to the brow of the hill and you will see a footpath across the field on your left. Follow this footpath around and across 2 fields and down a path. You will then pop out onto the road, turn left and you will come to the Kings Arms on your right at the Junction. For the Rock Pub turn left at the junction and then first Right. For the shop turn right.
